Overview of the Mount Image Pro Graphic User Interface (GUI)

The Mount Image Pro GUI is designed to both manage the mounting and unmounting of images and to quickly display relevant information about the currently mounted images.

The Mounted Images window (top) lists the currently mounted images including acquisition details. The "As" column identifies the specific drive letter that the mounted image has been designated (sort by clicking on the column headings). Click on the image name to open that drive letter in Windows Explorer.

The Image Details window (bottom) provides information about the currently selected image. This includes the image geometry, partition information and EnCaseĀ® properties.

Mount Image Pro GUI

To mount an image:

Start Mount Image Pro using the desktop icon, or select START / PROGRAMS / MOUNT IMAGE PRO.

Select the FILE / MOUNT in the top menu, or click the "Mount..." button. Then select the image file to mount; or,

Drag and drop the image file (for EnCase images drag and drop the .E01 file) into the "Mounted Images" window.

You will then be prompted by the following Window:

To Mount the image as the first available drive letter, select "First" and click OK. To specify the drive letter to be assigned to the mounted image, select the drive letter from the drop down list and click OK.

Viewing Image Properties Without Mounting

It is possible to view the details of an image without mounting the image. Click on the View button, select and image, and the image details will be displayed in the "Image Details" window.
