A license of Mount Image Pro is sold with a software activation key. Learn more about software activation keys here.
In addition to a software key it is possible to purchase a USB hardware activation dongle. One dongle may be purchased for each license owned.
In the past, Mount Image Pro has been sold with two types of dongle, a HASP and a ROCKEY.
The HASP dongle is NOT compatible with Mount Image Pro Version 4. If you are using a HASP dongle and wish to upgrade to Mount Image Pro v4, please contact support@getdata.com to arrange a replacement.
How does a MIP USB Dongle Work?
A USB hardware activation dongle contains your Mount Image Pro activation key. When the key is inserted into the USB port of a computer on which Mount Image Pro v4 is stored (and which has not already been activated with a Mount Image Pro v4 software activation key), the software will change from evaluation mode to its activated state (i.e. it will allow the user to mount images past the 14 day trial period).
The fastest ways to identify if your dongle is working correctly are:
If the
button disappears from the program tool bar when the dongle is inserted;
The programs "Activated" status in the "About" window (in the text menu at the top of the program select "Help > About");
If you are successfully about to mount image files when the dongle is inserted past the 14 day trial period.
I already have a MIP USB Activation Dongle, can I add my MIP v4 Key?
Yes, you can add a MIP v4 key to an existing dongle. Follow these steps:
Please download and run the GetData dongle manager; http://download.getdata.com/support/GetDataDongleManager.zip;
Unzip the contents into a folder and run the dongle manager (the executable and the .dll files must be together in the same folder), then insert your dongle;

You should see the available licenses in the left hand column. Click the green arrow button to transfer the license to your GetData dongle. Ensure that you wait at least 1 minute to enable the license to be written to the dongle before you remove the dongle.
Test the dongle on a PC which does not have a software license key installed. If the dongle is working, you should see the "Buy Online" button disappear from the tool bar when the dongle is inserted. You can also check the activation status from the text menu a the top of the program by clicking "Help > About" to open the program about window.
If you have problems with your dongle, please run the dongle manager and cut email us the log file displayed in the bottom window of the program (please make sure you expand the window to make sure you cut and paste the entire text).
