Mount Image Pro v2 Computer Forensics Software Quick Start Guide

To Mount Images from the Desktop

Open Mount Image Pro v2 from the desktop icon. Click "Mount" and select the image to mount. The mounted image should then appear in the top window with an assigned drive letter. You should now be able to access the drive letter on your computer like any other drive.

To Mount Images using Windows Explorer

1. Using Windows Explorer right click on the ".E01" file of the EnCase image set.

2. Select "Mount Image Pro"

3. Select Mount...

4. After you have clicked "Mount as Logical Drive(s)" wait approximately 5 to 15 seconds (depending on the size of the image file you are mounting.

The right click option will automatically attempt to mount each partition contained within the EnCase image set. Each known partition will be mapped to an available drive letter and appear in Windows Explorer.

To Mount RAW Images such as DD images

If the image is one file then make sure the file extension either .BIN or .RAW, then right click in Windows Explorer and select "Mount". If the image is in multiple files, right click the "descriptor file" (see manual for full details on descriptor files) and select "Mount".
